I don’t know about you, but I can tell you that for me, getting started on a construction project can be a stressful time. You can ease up into it or jump onto it with both feet, or dither along for years always promising yourself that you will start when you have all the bases 100% covered. The best way to reduce the stress of starting a project is to have a clear idea of what you want to accomplish. My intent is to familiarize you with the basic requirements of getting started and hopefully reduce the jitters of starting a new project.
It can be a small house remodel or a five story hotel; but you will find that in getting started there will be basic similarities and Subcontractor Meaning In Tamil when you are familiar with these similarities you will be better prepared to deal with the challenges of starting a new project.
You start a construction project with an,” IDEA.” When you think about this, all projects have begun as an idea. It doesn’t matter whether you are going to build a skyscraper or a kitchen addition you will start with an idea. From the birth of the idea will flow basic steps you need to take, for your idea to become a reality. If you are thinking of building a hotel you know that you will need land, and various approvals from different agencies. You will also need some initial rough drawings which show what you are proposing to build.
Depending upon the city you live in, you may need this basic information to find out if permits are required for your kitchen addition. Most city, state or county building departments will accept hand drawings which show the finished project you have envisioned.
And for both ideas you will need Money to transform your ideas into hard reality. Money to buy the land, Money to buy materials, and Money to pay the contractors, unless you do all of the work yourself. Construction is a function of Money and always will be.
Here is a rough outline of what you would need to start a hotel.
1. Land along with soil investigation.
2. Architectural firm along with an engineering Definition Of Subcontractor Vs Employee firm to flesh out your idea. (A&E)
3. Preliminary approval from the governing entity, usually a city or state.
4. Pricing from contractors and suppliers.
5. Pay all fees to the governing entity, which could be very expensive.
6. Financing arranged for construction or a deep pocket.
7. Start date.
A kitchen addition might require similar needs to start;
1. A house for the kitchen addition.
2. Drawings either from a remodeling company or hand drawn by you or by an Architectural company.
3. Preliminary approval from the government entity, usually a city or state.
4. Pricing of materials and contractors unless you will be doing the work.
5. Pay all permit fees.
6. Know where your money will be coming from.
7. Start Date.
And that is really all there is to the getting started process. Well almost all. You will need to provide the determination to get this thing off the ground and to get all of your ducks in order. And that certain something called intestinal fortitude or Guts, especially if this is a first time project for you.
When you are planning a construction project, you have already started with,” The IDEA”. All that flows from the idea is a part of getting started. Your building project along with, Careful Follow Through, will flow smoothly from the beginning to the end. Think of this as being similar to a golfer swinging the club properly. Good follow through is essential in both golf and starting your project.
And of course there are pros out there that will be more than willing to help you, such as construction consultants, engineers, architects and construction managers. If you are unsure of yourself these pros can be a great source of information even if you do not engage their services.
When you are through with your homework, as to what you need, all that is left for you to do is Start.
I wish you well getting started on your project and may the construction Gods smile upon your efforts.
