Window Tinting – Avoid These Mistakes
If you want to tint your home, office or car windows you will first need to know the mistakes to avoid before you get into the process of buying and installing the window tint. Here are some tips to help you with the window tinting process.
Thinking that window tinting will always ‘hide you’ from outside.
While tinted windows do provide a level of privacy you would not have with plain clear glass windows, tinting is not some kind of magic to hide you from people outside looking in. Depending on the level of tinting, people will still be able to see outlines of people and furniture inside, just not details. However, at night or if you have lights on during a dull day the window tinting becomes almost useless for privacy.
All window tints are created equal.
Definitely not! There are many different kinds of window tint film ranging from solar films which keep out UV sun rays to just plain tinted stick on plastic. You can also get coloured tints or white window frosting. Depending on what you want the tinting for you need to choose the right product.
You need a professional to install window tinting.
Not at all! I have installed window tinting on three large windows in my office with the help of a friend we had it done in a couple of hours. You just need a few bits and pieces and a large area to work in if you need to cut the tinting film to size.
